The thing about downtimes

Sometime this week, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp experienced downtime for a few hours and they were up afterwards.

Now, downtimes are good times to fix bugs and improve internal systems, but they could pose serious challenge to small businesses and customers especially if it wasn’t planned.

I was speaking with an entrepreneur recently and she lamented how her business was on hold because of the downtime.

This is how change and disruption happens. Sometimes you don’t plan for it and boom it’s staring at us.

Anyway, here’s how to stay on top of the game:

*Develop and implement other options.

*Don’t put all eggs in one basket.

As a brand or business, the following can be helpful:

1. Add telegram to your marketing tool

2. Revamp your email list.

3. Take advantage of other platforms like LinkedIn, TikTok, Clubhouse, Quora, etc.

4. Make use of Selar, Paystack, Flutterwave, Gladepay, Socialpay (eg payment links and other channels)

Downtimes can be disruptive or supportive. The choice is yours to ensure business continuity.
